Who Am I?

Last night, Miguel Tejada collected base hits number 210 and 211 tying the Orioles franchise record for most hits in a season (Ripken, 1983). With one more base hit, Tejada will own the single season hits mark for both the A's and the O's.

I am (currently) the only player in Major League history to own the single season hits mark for two different ML franchises.

Without cheating, I'm going to guess Paul Molitor.

Now, after looking up Molitor's stats, I will have to guess again. Molitor collected at least 211 hits for 3 different franchises, but, amazing, is the season leader for none. But maybe he's the only player with 200 hits for 3 teams?

I wound up cheating, but before I did, I will admit that my narrow-minded and completely wrong guess was Lance Johnson. Apparently he never came anywhere near those 227 hits he had for the Mets in 1996 during his time with either Chicago franchise. It's really amazing how bad the Mets were that year given the big years Johnson, Bernard Gilkey and Todd Hundley had, but I guess that's what happens when Mark Clark is your best starter.
