Statistical Analysis

The Baltimore Orioles are 11-7 through 18 games, on pace to win 99 , in 2nd place and a mere 1/2 game out of first in the AL East.

I have seen the games.

I have analyzed the numbers.

It is impossible to discern how they've done it.

Some things are better left unexplained. Having said that, I did notice the O's pitchers are stranding 75% of baserunners and no AL defense is doing better turning batted balls into outs (O's at 72.3% vs. AL average of 69.6%).

It is, of course, explainable, as you've pointed out. Having looked at the numbers and explained it to myself, I found the explanation unbelievable. Hence the post.
